For more than 27 years, I have worked in industry with a focus on product development, intellectual property & patents development & litigation, legal and technical compliance, and product liability litigation.  I am a licensed attorney in Michigan, Texas, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  I am also a Six Sigma Black Belt, Professional Engineer, and Certified Project Management Professional.  I have a diverse yet in-depth background and education in law, engineering, and business financial management.  In addition to my Juris Doctorate, I hold an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.   My goal is to be of service to you while ensuring that you are satisfied with my results.

I have extensive trial and deposition experience. My intellectual property expert witness litigation background includes patent infringement/non-infringement, patent validity/invalidity, prior art searches, & file-wrapper estoppel, for both ITC and Federal cases. I analyze patents and products, prepare claim charts for Markman hearings, produce expert witness reports, and testify with respect to all of these areas. I am thoroughly familiar with the America Invents Act and all 101, 102, 103, 112 and other enablement & prior art arguments. Infringement/non-infringement analyses performed under literal infringement and under the doctrine of equivalents. I also conduct product and technology analysis, patentability and prior art research, and provide litigation support and technology education of intellectual property. I am also thoroughly familiar with Design Validation Plans and Reports, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses, product prove-out, design verification, reliability and durability analyses, innovation, and provide opinions for developing inventions to commercialization. My experience includes technology standards boards and licensing authorities, antitrust/DOJ, technology development and transfer, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights, as well as false/deceptive advertising, unfair competition/trade, Lanham Act, & trademark infringement/dilution.

My product liability expert witness litigation background includes all types of safety systems, electrical systems, fires, accident reconstruction (I am certified in accident reconstruction through Northwestern University), and evaluation of alternative designs for automotive, medical and other industries. I have over 27 years of experience in the development of automotive safety systems in all aspects of sensors, seatbelts, airbags/curtains, seats, diagnostic systems, crash recorders, structure (including roof-crush and door) and system design. I have developed and designed front, side and roll-over systems (including sensing and algorithm development) for Ford, GM, and other domestic and international corporations. I also have extensive experience in Warning Systems, Forward Collision Warning/Lane Departure, as well as Vision/Camera/ Optical/Image systems, GPS, Navigation, Cellular/Radio/Wireless/Satellite Communication and Information/Data Transmission, Telematics, Monitoring/Surveillance systems, Automotive/Recreational/Commercial/Truck, Construction/Excavation Vehicle/Equipment/Manufacturing/Development for domestic and international corporations.
